    Hi There,

I am not able to add plugins to my website via ftp because of security reasons. I have added the Cornerstone plugin manually and have since added a plugin that allows me to upload plugins via sftp. I can’t access the extensions from the control panel though. I get a message that reads Your WordPress file permissions do not allow plugins to be installed. Has anyone else run into this error. Is there a way to install the plugins manually or can I install them via the plugin add new option?

    Thanks,
    Becky Zingler

    Hey There,

    Thanks for writing in!

Please try resetting your WordPress files and folders permissions.

The correct settings can be found at http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/08/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.
