Hello. I recently noticed my visual composer was not working, and tried to update it. It wouldn’t let me, and after looking around I realized I never installed cornerstone. After I installed the plugin, my dashboard, as well as my website give me an error code.
Any suggestions? I don’t do any real webwork, just built my site and left it alone as it functioned fine. I wanted to update a pic, and now I’m shut down.

Thanks for writing in! There is most likely a conflict due to a big jump in updates. Would you know which version you updated from? There have been lots of updates and changes that may need to be updated depending on your site customization. You can try the following:
Login via FTP and check if X Shortcodes is still installed. If so delete it from the plugins folder. It is already integrated and replaced by Cornerstone.
If it doesn’t help or you are not able to do this on your own please provide us with login credentials so we can take a closer look. To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
I was able to resolve the issue via FTP, as instructed in your original post. There were two locations where the X shortcodes were still installed.
