    Hi!

    I have a site that uses different sidebars to show section menus.

    Everything works fine in the main language (Spanish), but now, I translated the whole site to english, french and catalan –also the menus–, and the sidebars are not showing in any language but spanish.

    It’s not a menu issue, because if I try to add a text widget (multilingual or not), it does not appear…

    Thanks!

    Hi! I looked at it yesterday, but could not find how it is related… It does not talk about menus or custom sidebars, it refers to X theme strings … Should I use Poedit? There says it should work with WPML too… I think the problem is that the sidebar itself is not showing in other languages but spanish…

    Hi there,

    Sidebars aren’t translatable, but its content can be controlled. For example, you can use Widget Logic Plugin, then add two of the same widget with different language. And use the condition to display the widget for a specific language.

    Like adding these condition under Widget logic field

    ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE=='en'

    Or

    ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE=='fr'

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

    I think that the problem is that the sidebar I created in the Sidebars section (and where I assigned in with pages it should appear), only appears in spanish. If I switch to another language the sidebar is missing (and of course, its content)

    I also did a couple of tests: if I go to the sidebars section, and I change the language in the topbar to english and assign the english versions of the pages I want the sidebar to appear in “La compañia” sidebar, when I go back to spanish, the spanish assignment is missing.

    The other thing I did is to create a sidebar for english and another for spanish, but when one works, the other not…

    You can take a look at the backend if you like…

    Help would be appreciated.

    Done, I had to use Dynamic Widgets Plugin.

    It would be nice if Sidebars where multi-language compatible 🙂
