I am managing my wordpress site through Godaddy. I get “This X license is ​not validated​. Fix”. I have validated when prompted. I have the white screen of death. I have done everything to fix the issue. I have logged off and back on. This is my second X license purchase and this one is a nightmare. Please advise.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Please make sure that you have the latest version (Theme and Plugins) installed. Our latest versions are:
X Theme: 4.6.1
Cornerstone: 1.3.0

You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site. If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

To properly validate X theme in your site, please do the following:
1] Please login to your account and assign the license. You need to assign the license to your site using this url: https://www.example.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
2] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license again.

And please review the changes that we made on how you are going to validated your X theme because we made a big change in the process. Please check it out here: https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/

I followed all of the steps with no luck. After entering my purchase code, I hit enter at which time I got a white page.

You can follow this to create a FTP user on Godaddy – https://uk.godaddy.com/help/add-ftp-users-1236

If you still can’t; then godaddy credentials will work.

Hello There,

I have checked your files in the ftp and even tested uploading a test file. I couldn’t see any changes. Can you confirm that the ftp you gave is on the same directory where your site resides? Because I’ve already spent several time and nothing happens even if I delete or add a new files.

Hello There,

I am already logged in to your WP Dashboard and do not have any problems with it. I could not proceed with the validation because every time I will test the validation, it will throw in an error. In order to resolve this, I must have to check your WP files using your FTP. I also logged in to your ftp regretfully all of the changes I’ve made doesn’t reflect to your site. That is why I am asking if I am on the correct ftp directory or not because none of my changes work out so far.

I did some further investigation. I noticed that you are using PHP version 5.4.42 and WordPress 4.5 requires at least 5.6 (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). This could possibly be the cause of the issue. In most cases you cannot update your PHP version yourself and need to contact your host about this. The upgrade process is an easy process and should be something your host can do for you without affecting your website or charging you for it. Here’s a letter you can send to your hosting company:

Dear host,

I\'m interested in running the open-source WordPress <https://wordpress.org/> web software and 
I was wondering if my account supported the following:

- PHP 5.6 or greater
- MySQL 5.6 or greater
- The mod_rewrite Apache module

And when validating your site, it throws in a white screen. A white screen usually means there is a fatal PHP error. Can you please enable WP_DEBUG mode? You can do this by opening wp-config.php and adding
define( 'WP_DEBUG' , true ); just above /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ For example:

define('WP_DEBUG', true);

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

When you revisit the page with the white screen, you should have some error output describing the issue in more detail.
