I tried to report this before hoping for a fix but it was simply brushed aside by the support staff.

The moment you set a page as your post page in wordpress settings, menu items on that page will simply seize to work. Links in menu Items will just appear broken and not work.

The only solution to using a blog section with a website built with X is to create a page and insert latest posts via cornerstone and simply do not set it as your post page.(This solution doesn’t actually look very good aesthetic wise)

I fully expect a support staff to come here and tell me how wrong I am again but I have been updating to the latest version each time and this bug is still there.

Please try and fix this with the next update. It’s getting annoying.

    Hi There,

    That should not happen.

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Thanks

    Hi There,

I have assigned your posts page to your page “Blog” and it works just fine.

I tested on Chrome and Firefox.

Let us know which device and browser you are using while experiecing the issue.

Also please clean your browser cache before testing.

    Thanks

You clearly didn’t read the problem properly… The issue is not whether assigning post page will work. The issue is that menu items on any page assigned as post page do not work… And here I thought I was going to finally get some help with this.

The theme is broken. And I honestly don’t feel like the license was worth my money if this is what I have to keep going through with this theme.

    Hello There,

Sorry for the confusion. I am guessing that we are not on the same page. All we see in your blog index is this:
    http://prntscr.com/bx533o

The Blog menu item is being highlighted because that is the current page. I am not sure if we understood you correctly with your questions.
The moment you set a page as your post page in wordpress settings, menu items on that page will simply seize to work. Links in menu Items will just appear broken and not work.

Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.

Please let us know how it goes.

Currently if you visit vuringroup.com/blog you will notice the links in the menu that point to other parts of the site (CSR, ABOUT US, MEDIA CENTER… ETC) all work because I didn’t set the page as a post page. I simply added the 4 latest posts to that page via corner stone. It is the only way to have a blog section with X and have the links on the menu work.

And the links are absolute URLs. Meaning if I put a link in the menu I have in my blog section titled “X Theme” and link it back to this community, that link will not work the minute I set blog page as my post list page in wordpress setting.

As long as I don’t do that I am fine. Which isn’t really fine because the current alternative is very ugly and non functional.

Please tell me you understand what I am trying to say.

    Hi There,

    Unfortunely I am still confused.

I have now assigned your blog page to a different page.

    http://vuringroup.com/blog-test/

And your navbar seems to be working fine.

Only thing I noticed Is that you have a different menu assigined for some pages, like for example:

    Energy

Which I accessed by going to OUR COMPANIES > Vurin Energy.

Let us know more details about the issue you are facing in order that we can understand it.

    Thanks

Please visit the new test page you created and try to click the “Media-Center” “Careers” or CSR pages. The links do not work. That is my point. This problem only happens after u assigned a page as your posts page.

    See for yourself.

    Hi There,

Those links don´t work because they are assigned to sections that don´t exist on that page.

If you would like that those link connect to the sections of your main page, you need to use the full url on your Appereance > Menu > Custom link

    Instead of : #x-section-3

    use: http://http://vuringroup.com/#x-section-3

Let us know if you have further questions.

LOL… if I select a different menu for this page with absolute urls in all menu items. they still won’t work… If i link menu items to Facebook.com or twitter.com they still won’t work.

I am tired of explaining this again and again. BUT YOUR THEME IS BROKEN!!!!

    Hello There,

Sorry if you feel that the theme is broken. I have spend sometime and investigated the issue. It turns out that you have used the one page navigation in the homepage the wrong way. You were supposed to have 2 separate menus. One menu is exclusively for your one page navigation where in you will have #media, #csr or #carreers as the href of the menu item. And the second menu is for the primary menu and will need to have the full and direct link in the href of the menu item such as http://example.com/#media, http://example.com/#csr or http://example.com/#careers.

What you have now is just one menu and of course when you are not on the homepage, it will not work because it is only link to a section within that page or simply mean that you are using the local link which is good within the page only.

To save some time explaining, I went ahead and created two separate menus in your site. I have created “One Page Menu” and “The Primary Menu”. I have assigned “One Page Menu” as your one page menu for the homepage. And the the second menu were assigned as primary menu. This should resolve the issue you were having trouble with.

Please let us know how it goes.
