    Hi,

I have had a copy of X on for a long time on a site i developed for a friend.

i’m looking to update it to the latest and greatest but i’m doing the update on a testing server hosted on a subdomain.

i’ve got the latest version running on the testing server but i’d like to validate it with my purchase code to recreate the live site as closely as possible.

my problem is that when i try to use my Envato Purchase Code, i get the following error.

    ——

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    please help

    Thanks,
    Steve

We have found that this is typically due to security settings or permissions errors with the server. For this particular situation, you will need to contact your hosting provider and ask them to ensure that your file permissions are set correctly. Additionally, this could be related to a ModSecurity rule being triggered due to a combination of keywords used in the core WordPress files. This should be able to be remedied by writing into the support team at your host and asking them to whitelist the ModSecurity rules on your domain.
