mizzou1530ParticipantI created a site a few years back with X and didn’t have a need to update it but also forgot to validate it so it would automatically update. Now it is in version 2.0 and visual composer won’t work and I can’t update the site. I tried to update X to the newest version and validated it. When I did that it trashed the formatting of the site.
So I followed instructions from your site on loading in the template I had used (Version 8 of Integrity) but when I did that it overrode all my content (which it said it wouldn’t). So I did a backup restore through the host which restored it but not completely. So I am now left with a messed up site that I can’t even update because VC isn’t working.
How can I get this working without trashing the site further?

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Currently you’re using old version of X and plugins.
#1 Please clone your site (if you don’t want to mess up main site) and follow this link to update your theme : https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/
#2 Next follow this link to validate your product : https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation
#3 Visit X addons page to install cornerstone automatically and disable x shortcodes plugin.
#4 Check for available updates and you should be able to update visual composer.
#5 In case you are using child theme, please follow this link : http://theme.co/changelog/#theme-4-3-3
Hope it helps.
