pdopchevParticipantHi guys,
My client is looking for a grid with custom filters, but it turned out that The Essential Grid doesn’t support those (my previous thread: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/filter-by-custom-meta-essential-grid/) and decided to go with The Grid.
Is there a way to create custom meta values (like the essential grid – check two first screen grabs) with The Grid?
My second question – how could the grid be centered in the column/row/section? (please check last screen grab – it is the first grid) http://www.enjoycrestedbutte.com/the-crested-butte-hiking-guide/

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! Please keep in mind that the grid filters will use only categories, tags and post formats. Any custom meta data can only be used in sorting option.
With the Grid plugin, you can make use of the custom meta fields. You can add meta data by going to The Grid > Global Settings > Meta Data tab.
Please check out this link:

pdopchevParticipantThank you for the quick reply!
However still struggling to figure out, if what I am going for is possible with The Grid…
How exactly do you set a value for the custom meta field? Going to Global Settings->and setting a custom meta does not seem to work as the one in the Essential Grid. After adding a meta of Name: Moderate and Meta key name: moderate and using it in the skin editor it pulled out a value of the category the current post has – in this case “hiking guide” (please refer to screen grabs) [ http://www.enjoycrestedbutte.com/the-crested-butte-hiking-guide/ – first grid on the page]
1) Is there a way to set values, which would be pulled in the skin – like custom title for instance?
2) Repeating the question from up above: My second question – how could the grid be centered in the column/row/section? (please check last screen grab – it is the first grid) http://www.enjoycrestedbutte.com/the-crested-butte-hiking-guide/

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for updating in!
1] You can add the custom meta data to each of your posts by way of using the custom fields. These fields will then be pulled off in the grid as you have set it in the skin settings. To know more about custom fields, please check it here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Custom_Fields
2] I have checked your page and it looks like the grid is already center within your column. Please check out this screenshot: http://prnt.sc/ds23bc
Hope this helps.
