    Hi,

I’m struggling to use the plugin Tablepress. The basic shortcode works, but when I try to use it with one of the dedicated extensions, there’s a problem.

If I put something like this:

    [table id=123 row_highlight="YES" /]

using “YES” as a filter, everything is sometimes okay and works. Note – sometimes!

However if I use any sort of symbol, e.g.

    [table id=123 row_highlight=">>>" /]

    or

    [table id=123 row_highlight="YES||NO" /]

then that symbol is literally stripped out of the shortcode, i.e. it doesn’t even display in the page’s source code. This is a problem because I need to use at least the pipe symbol.

Do you know why this is happening and what I can do to make it all work properly, please?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Although we do not offer support for third party plugins, please provide your URL so we can take a look.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Sorry, but I’m NOT asking for support for a third party plugin.

I am asking why if I use this plugin and settings on a clean WP install with 2016 theme, everything works fine, but when I use it with X, it will not work. I want to know why your theme is not functioning properly and how to fix it, please.

I ask because IF you can assure me you can make it work properly, I will buy a second license for another site I’m building.

    Can you do this, please?

    Steve

    Hi there,

How did you implement it? Would you mind providing a video recording? Please include both tests in X theme and 2016 theme. I can’t really answer that since it’s not the X theme that processes the content, but cornerstone when using that builder.

    Thanks!

    Hi Rad,

I don’t use cornerstone. I don’t like it. I would deactivate it, but your theme insists on having it run, so I can’t. I wish you would provide the option for users to activate or deactivate it as they wish.

I have struggled with this table issue for days. I don’t want to waste more time on it.

Please just tell me if I should be able to use such as the pipe symbol in shortcodes and have everything work and display in the page source code (which it doesn’t). Is cornerstone behaving as intended by stripping this information, or is there a problem that needs investigating, please? I can provide access to the site and a test page if need be.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Please give us access to your site and we’ll try to replicate your setup on our test site.

    Thanks.
