krassvsParticipantHi,
When switching to child theme it breaks the order of my sidebars on the site – when I check the settings of the sidebar they are all in order. Switching back to the main theme puts everything back in place.
The child theme has not been modified.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Would you mind setting your Child Theme active and sharing the URL with us so we can take a look at the issue?
I believe you need to perform a Child Theme update but before recommending you that I would like to have a look.
Thanks
Joao

JoaoModeratorHi There,
That does not seem the case of a Child Theme update.
Please provide more details of the issue and provide us your admin credentials so we can take a closer look.

krassvsParticipantDetails of the Issue:
The site has been built with regular X-Theme. Now I want to adjust the inner container padding and it seems like the only way is through a child theme. I updated X to the newest version and downloaded the child theme.
– Now when I activate the child theme – my sidebars seem to be reordered kind of randomly. As soon as I switch back it all works.
– I did not have to do anything in the childs customizer though – it had the same settings as the parent which seems kinda strange to me.
– Please note that there might be a few lines of code in the parent custom field that is not in the child (since I was just working on that)
– BTW and maybe unrelated. I just updated Essential Gallery which broke the essential system – no titles and I could not click anymore. I had to restore the backup I made before updating X to get the whole site running again.

ChristianModeratorHey there,
Switching to a child theme will reset your sidebar widgets so you will need to redo them. For the Essential Grid issue, please open a separate thread for it and give us more details and add in your WP admin and FTP credentials.
Thanks.

FriechModeratorHi There,
Its not just the X|Theme, WordPress works that way when the switched theme has different set of sidebar.
Please check that page, it seems to have an unclosed tag as the sidebar is rendered outside the main container.
Thanks.
