Currently I’ve been using genesis & studiopress framework & themes on my clients site. On my personal site I use X theme currently and want to switch my client over soon.
They get a lot of traffic and I don’t want it to be down very long, so I need to make sure I’m prepared.
Will switching over to X theme be as simple as installing it and switching the themes in wordpress and that’s it? All my blog posts and menus and everything will still be there, just formatted for whatever stack I choose in X theme right?
I just don’t want to install X, switch it, and find all the content, widgets, menus, etc. are all gone or something.

Yes it is simple as switching theme however I recommend for you to setup a development to test things first and if it okay already transfer it to your live site.
Don’t forget to backup your live site before doing any transfer.
