RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for sharing, I’ll check that too could be related to html_entity_decode().
Thanks.

Chris StovallParticipantThanks. It has caused me to have to rebuild that site from scratch more than once. But it’s worth it since everything else in the theme is so easy to work on.

JackKeymasterHi Chris,
Sorry to hear you’ve had to re-build the site from scratch to get around this problem.
Would you mind sharing the database in a private reply (you can provide the .mysql export in a zip) and we’d be happy to take a look and further debug what’s happening.
Thanks!

Chris StovallParticipantOkay. So that didn’t work. How do you want me to get these to you?

Chris StovallParticipantI have another site that this has now happened to. This was working fine last time I checked. Nothing has been updated for months. I just logged in to see what updates are needed and BOOM. The cornerstone data was missing for the home page. Just like the other site above.
Looks fine on the front end, nothing has changed, all cornerstone data is missing.
Sending site files and MySQL db links in next post.
I had thought this was an isolated incident with one of my client sites, but I’ve been hearing more and more from other people with the same issue. This one is scary considering I have 19 sites running this software. I can’t come back to a site after months and suddenly have it not working. PLEASE help get this figured out!
THANK YOU!!

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks, data are still intact from that database but they are invalid. This mean this happens on database level.
Would you mind providing your other affected site’s admin login credentials? I like to see what’s common between your sites.
Please also check your WordPress version, does it update automatically?
Let me know.

ChristianModeratorHey Chris,
Do you have backups of your affected sites?
June 3, 2016 at 9:54 am #1024313
Chris StovallParticipantI have all sites backed up daily and then uploaded to an Amazon AWS account through WHM. I only keep 2 months of backups. This happened sometime between now and October of last year when this was completed. So there would not be a working backup since this was completed so long ago.
Unfortunately no. I do not.
June 3, 2016 at 9:59 am #1024324
Chris StovallParticipantI have a backup from Jan and from Dec. I’ll try and find time to restore these sites sometime this week and see what happened.
June 3, 2016 at 1:13 pm #1024565
Chris StovallParticipantOkay. I have the original working files before I took them to the live server, and the current files on the server.
So what’s happening is EXACTLY what was happening with the Grab The Gold site mentioned at the beginning of this thread. When I import the MySQL, and version, the cornerstone data is ripped out. I know there are ways to move it where this doesn’t happen, but none of them work on these files.
I think we tracked the Grab the Gold problem to the fact that any pages with an “®” symbol caused the problem. This is now the 2nd site with the exact same issues. I have 17 other X theme sites that DO NOT have this problem and they have been moved, archived, and restored using the EXACT same process.
A link to the files in the next post.
