There should be a sticky post at the top, ‘Welcome to TrailerLife.ca’ and the status for that post is published, visibility = published, sticky.
However, it does not show on the front page I am looking at. It is not in the top bar of most recently published posts, in the carousel for the blog, nor in the list of blog posts.
A new post I have added in the video post type is not showing up anywhere except in the category where it was filed, ‘ideas’.
How do I get X displaying content correctly?

The “Welcome to TrailerLife.ca” appears on top of other posts. And in order to display sticky posts outside the other group is to create its own custom query. Please check this https://codex.wordpress.org/Sticky_Posts
If checked, the post will be placed at the top of the front page of posts, keeping it there until new posts are published.
Is there any sample you can show us of how you wish it to be displayed?
