The Recent Post element doesn’t not support post formats. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You might want to contact our trusted partners who caters X setup and customization needs. Please see https://community.theme.co/custom-development/. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!
I understand, that you want to support your partners, but isn’t a more appropriate answer “yes, this would be a good feature, we will look into it, meanwhile, contact our partners..”?
I understand the technical problems involved, but displaying other things then text and pretty pictures on a page sounds quite resonable to me in 2016..
We certainly appreciate the feedback! This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.
