ahmedhikalBlockedHello,
I have some quick question :1- About Child theme , I download and install it, then activate it as mentioned in the help document for it , but when I change anything in the child demo it change on the life website also ,which mean it is another theme, as what I understand from the technote is child theme is like a demo , I can work on x theme and then put it into production and then change the child theme will not affect the production website.
2- How to do a login to the users, for example I want to make a site “not a forum” that users can register in the site using their mails and so they can have account on the site, this need a sort of database , how can I achieve that with the themes?.
3- If I want to make a Mooc site, education sites with 2 or 3 courses for sales, also How can I achieve that , and I do not want the users able to download the content just want it ?”like udemy.com”.
Regards

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
1. A child theme is not a demo or staging, it’s the theme where you can place your customization without doing it directly to the parent theme (X theme). Changes on the child theme apply on either production or staging/demo because it’s effective on where it’s installed.
A production site has both child and parent theme, same for staging/demo site, it has it’s own child and parent theme.
2. It’s not Theme’s functionality and WordPress has it by default. All you have to do is enable registration through Admin > Settings > General > Membership and toggled on the Anyone can register. If you prefer to have more advance registration and user profiles, then you can install 3rd party plugins.
3. You’ll have to use 3rd party plugin like Woocommerce, or any e-commerce plugin that will allow you selling digital contents.
Hope this helps.
