bslsussexParticipantHi
I’m also trying to put social icons to the right of my menu. I’ve followed all the instructions above and it has had no effect. I’m assuming they are specific to that particular site. Can you help me? My URL is http://bslsussex.com/
Thanks in advance

RupokMemberHi Vik,
Thanks for updating the thread. The suggested code is not site specific so it should work for you too if you add them correctly. However you can enable Topbar from Customize > Header to display social icons there – http://prntscr.com/9s5p8y
You need to to set the social links from Customize > Social
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

bslsussexParticipantHi
I don’t want to use the topbar because I can’t find a way to make both it and the menu sticky. (I added position:fixed; to the CSS for the topbar but then the menu wasn’t sticky.
I am getting frustratingly close with the method above though – I have 2 of my 5 icons but really cannot work out why the others aren’t showing. Would you mind having a look at this code to see where I am going wrong?
This is my child theme _navbar.php file:
<?php
// =============================================================================
// VIEWS/GLOBAL/_NAVBAR.PHP
// —————————————————————————–
// Outputs the navbar.
// =============================================================================$navbar_position = x_get_navbar_positioning();
$logo_nav_layout = x_get_logo_navigation_layout();
$is_one_page_nav = x_is_one_page_navigation();?>
<?php if ( ( $navbar_position == ‘static-top’ || $navbar_position == ‘fixed-top’ || $is_one_page_nav ) && $logo_nav_layout == ‘stacked’ ) : ?>
<div class=”x-logobar”>
<div class=”x-logobar-inner”>
<div class=”x-container max width”>
<?php x_get_view( ‘global’, ‘_brand’ ); ?>
</div>
</div>
</div><div class=”x-navbar-wrap”>
<div class=”<?php x_navbar_class(); ?>”>
<div class=”x-navbar-inner”>
<div class=”x-container max width”>
<?php x_get_view( ‘global’, ‘_nav’, ‘primary’ ); ?>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div><?php else : ?>
<div class=”x-navbar-wrap”>
<div class=”<?php x_navbar_class(); ?>”>
<div class=”x-navbar-inner”>
<div class=”x-container max width”>
<?php x_get_view( ‘global’, ‘_brand’ ); ?>
<div class=”social_by_nav”>- <i class=”x-icon-twitter” data-x-icon=””></i>
- <i class=”x-icon-facebook” data-x-icon=””></i>
- <i class=”x-icon-google-plus-square” data-x-icon=””></i>
- <i class=”x-icon-linkedin-square” data-x-icon=””></i>
- <i class=”x-icon-linkedin-square” data-x-icon=””></i>
</div>
<?php x_get_view( ‘global’, ‘_nav’, ‘primary’ ); ?>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div><?php endif; ?>
Thanks for the help
Vik

bslsussexParticipantOh dear, I don’t know how to post here without the code working……

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
You need to wrap your code within code tags.
Please try this:
<a href="mailto:[email protected]?Subject=Hello%20again" target="_top"><i class="x-icon- fa-envelope-square" data-x-icon="" aria-hidden="true"></i></a>Hope it helps.

bslsussexParticipantThere were no tags missing………… but I must’ve done something wrong. Thanks. It’s working now I’ve retyped it.
