copdcParticipantUPDATE – I have managed to activate Slider Revolution by deleting and u/l via FTP instead of using Addons, but now get white screen for Dashboard. I’ve deactivated it.

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! You should use the compatible version installed from X Addons page. Kindly remove the plugin completely and install again from X Addons.
If you still face this issue, let us know.
Cheers!

copdcParticipantRead my post I did use the compatible version and installed it from the Addons page. It wouldn’t activate and caused the fatal error. I then u/l the same version from a download of the X theme and was able to activate, but then it caused a Dashboard white screen.
I still need resolution on the bbPress pagination issue.

ChristianModeratorSorry about that. There’s currently an issue with the Addons grabbing alpha or beta version of the approved plugins. Please download from the WordPress repository for now. See https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/ for the compatible version.
After that, we can investigate the pagination issue.
Thanks.

copdcParticipantHi Christian,
I’ve installed bbPress v 2.5.8 and BuddyPress v 2.5.3 via FTP. FYI the pagination issue was not resolved.
I re-installed Slider Revolution v 5.2.5.3 via Addons. When I activate it I receive: “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
Thanks.

RupokMemberHi there,
It seems you are using Wordfence and caching plugin. Could you try deactivating them and try installing again?
Thanks
June 9, 2016 at 12:31 pm #1034368
copdcParticipantI deactivated Wordfence and the caching plugin and deleted and reinstalled bbPress, BuddyPress & Slider Revolution.
Still the same issues.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
I did some further investigation. I noticed that you are using PHP version 5.3.5 and WordPress 4.5 requires at least 5.6 (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). This could possibly be the cause of the issue. In most cases you cannot update your PHP version yourself and need to contact your host about this. The upgrade process is an easy process and should be something your host can do for you without affecting your website or charging you for it. Here’s a letter you can send to your hosting company:
Dear host, I\'m interested in running the open-source WordPress <https://wordpress.org/> web software and I was wondering if my account supported the following: - PHP 5.6 or greater - MySQL 5.6 or greater - The mod_rewrite Apache module Looking forward to your reply.Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

Rue NelModeratorHello Fred,
Thanks for the updates! I always look into the PHP version first because that is the very basic requirement of WordPress as being stated here (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). If indeed that server doesn’t meet the requirements, issues will occur.
Upon checking on the page, this is not an ordinary forum topic. This is a buddypress group forum topic. There are already instance where a user have encountered this issue. Take this link for example:
The one thing that a user found out is that the issue is a conflict between BuddyPress and other plugin. To better test this issue, I would recommend that you switch to twenty fifteen or twenty sixteen theme.
Hope this helps.

copdcParticipantKudos to you Rue. Thank you for your patience and helpful information to understand and resolve this. While I can’t do what I wanted to accomplish I now understand the “why” of it.
Thank you!

louisaleontiadesParticipantHi, following on from a previous thread I found the conflict was between wordfence and bbpress. But wordfence protects my site. Is there a workaround to have them both? Thanks
Louisa
