We can’t get the settings right for an effect we want on our revolution slider. We want text in yellow to say “Click here to watch the most amazing cat video ever.” I tried to enable it so that the text will disappear when you click on either the text or the video. But the text doesn’t appear at all now. How can we make it so that this effect works? Thanks.

Hi. Actually that isn’t what we’re trying to do. I know how to get add a play button or to make it so you can start and pause media using a play button. Our issue is that we want the text we’re superimposing on top of our video to disappear once the video is clicked or the text is clicked. I am following the proper protocol to make that happen and not only is it not working, the text isn’t appearing at all.

Hey Deborah,
I have check your slider and it turns out that the text layer is behind the layer containing your video. Please re arrange your layers and make sure that the text layer will always be on top of any other layers.

Please check layer position for the layers sorting. Then to display the text on top, select Text layer action tab. Then see Action Tab attached screenshot for the settings.

I got the layer order to work but now I am having a new issue with it. I want the text to disappear after about 8 seconds. I adjusted the settings to do this, but it’s not working. The text is just sticking without dissapearing. It worked briefly but stopped. I don’t know if something is being effected by an update in the plugin – but slider revolution seems to be acting up.
NOTE: I flipped the layer order at the moment purposefully until I can figure this out so the text doesn’t block the video.Hi there,
It looks like a bug, I created the same setup on older version ng it works. I’ll forward this for further investigation.

I tried it again with no success, but I’ll be forwarding this again. Both text base and video layer doesn’t work correctly with z-index when it’s related to a video.
How about setting your video as a slide background for a moment? Like from here http://soccerkittens.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=revslider&view=slide&id=16
