Hi,
I have added a background Vimeo video to my page, however before the video starts there is a brief black screen that flashes and then the video starts. I have tried loading a transparent cover image and changed to no transition. But the black screen still flashes before the video starts.

Hi,

Please use the feature Slider Below Masthead then add your video as background instead of using revslider element.

Hi,
I added the slider using Slider Below Masthead feature, but I am still seeing the black screen flash. I cannot add it just as a background video because there is text that appears on the video. What else can I try?

Hi,
I could not find any setting in Vimeo that would remove the black background. I know you don’t provide Vimeo support but if you have any pointers then I would really appreciate it. I also wanted to clarify that I am not having an issue with the black bars on the sides of the video.

The issue I have is that there is a black screen that covers the entire background before the video starts. I would like it to work like this example:

Can you tell me how to reproduce this example?
(However I notice now that even in this example there is a very brief black flash too, but not as noticeable)

In particular, I do not like that the text on the video background appears before the video loads.

If it is not possible to remove the black screen that flashes, then would it help if the video was self-hosted?

That will not totally remove the black, coming from the vimeo though. But it will not be as notieable.

Try that first and do let us know how this goes.

Ok – I’m having all sorts of issues with black screens too.

I original had my video/Slider Above Masthead which worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago. Running tests and going through the forums, I keep seeing, Slider Below Masthead. So I switched it and it’s working.

But I really want it above the masthead. Is there a way to do this??? Video hosted on Vimeo.
