    The slider on the main page, first slide has the words, then they disappear, and there is a long delay before the next slide loads. I can’t figure why. I have played with timings on slider and the timings on the words.

    Thanks for writing in! You need to set the delay and transition properly for the layers. Kindly follow the Revolution Slider Documentation for better understanding.
