John BParticipantI have read a lot of forum posts about this, nut I am still not clear about it. I would like the sidebar that appears on the Blog page to appear also on all individual blog-post pages. Many of the replies in the forum point out what to do in the Customizer. I read those, and check my Customizer settings. I still have no sidebar. One post from June 6, 2016 (Topic: Enable sidebar on all posts by default | Themeco Community) had a chunk of PHP (in your reply #1046381) which, if placed in the child-theme functions.php file, was supposed to fix this. Is this indeed the way? Why is it not the default or a choice in the Customizer Blog section to make the sidebar appear on single blog posts? Your help is greatly appreciated.

LelyModeratorHello John,
Thanks for posting in.
We do have a setting in Customizer > Layout and Design > Choose either Content Left, Sidebar Right or Sidebar Left, Content Right. That settings will add sidebars on Blog index page, archive pages and single post page. Whatever the content on Appearance > Widgets > Main Sidebar you will see in the those sidebar. On the other hand, to show sidebar on Page, we need to select Layout with Sidebar under Page Template.. In case you’re using custom sidebar, that you have created on Appearance > Sidebar, this content is not available by default on the sidebar. There is a box where you can tick where you want those sidebar to appear. If this is already set and the sidebar is not yet appearing on your blog post, please share your admin credentials on a private reply so we can set your settings.Hope this helps.

Paul RModeratorHi John,
You need to select a Content Layout with a sidebar under Layout and Design in the Customizer.

Then navigate to Blog and set the layout to use the global content layout.

Hope that helps.

John BParticipantHi Lely;
I had the customizer set properly. I did not have the widgets arranged properly; there’s a Blog Sidebar that I had set up, but I did not know I had to set the Main Sidebar as well. So it was easy. Thanks!!!September 30, 2016 at 3:54 pm #1197813
JoaoModeratorGlad to hear we managed to help,
