inlifestyleParticipantThe custom sidebars are assigning to selected pages but not to the taxonomy? What do you need to look into this issue?

LelyModeratorHi There,
I tried to assign Membership – Main sidebar to your taxonomy @Work and it works. See attached screenshots.
Can you clarify where it is not working? I left it assigned so you can see. Feel free to remove once checked.September 7, 2016 at 9:03 am #1164483

LelyModeratorHi There,
Please note that it is not automatic. When I choose @Work taxonomies, it will show just on the @Work archive page but not on single post under this taxonomy. We have to select each post under All Pages and Posts for custom Sidebar to show on this post. I have select this and the sidebar is now showing. See attached screenshot.

inlifestyleParticipantso what is the purpose of having the taxonomy list, if you still have to select the page / post?
September 8, 2016 at 9:35 am #1166470
inlifestyleParticipantCan this be done with custom development?
If not, how do we deactivate the sidebar feature from the theme. We had Custom Sidebars Pro installed and I’m guessing it was creating a conflict with your sidebar functionality and deleted sidebars created through your sidebar area.

RadModeratorHi there,
All archive pages display the list of posts that users need to click. Unless, I misunderstand what you’re trying to do. Would you mind providing a working sample?
About the sidebar, yes, it’s conflicting with X’s sidebars. All of them uses filters, and anything can hook on it, and can break it. Yes, possible with custom development.
Thanks!

inlifestyleParticipantWe just want to be able to click a category / taxonomy and show on all posts with that cat?
September 9, 2016 at 10:23 am #1168083
inlifestyleParticipantwhat needs to be done to achieve that?

RadModeratorHi there,
Still confuses me, because that’s how it’s already work. Click taxonomy and it will display all posts.
Maybe it’s related to this https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/create-sidebar-for-post-category/#post-196190
You can assign sidebar directly to category in admin while editing it. And that sidebar will appear on both taxonomy page and its single page.
Thanks!

inlifestyleParticipantwill that code provided work for our theme setup or does anything have to be changed? So this will display the selected sidebar inside a post from a selected category?
Thx!

LelyModeratorHi There,
Yes, the provided customization on previous suggested thread will work. Please follow custom codes suggested.
Cheers!
