MonumentWealthParticipantHi, I just installed X Theme and child theme, and am trying to use a Shortcode but when I view the page, the code is showing instead of my Recent Posts (or anything else I try). Is there something I missed in the set up? I don’t see X Shortcodes in the Addons section or Plugins… not sure if it should be listed there.
Thanks in advance.

RupokMemberHi there,
Upon checking your website, I can’t see any shortcode and everything seems fine on my end. So if you still facing any issue, post with a screenshot pointing your problem.
Thanks

JadeModeratorHi there,
The shortcode shows up as it is when you view it on the page because it was wrapped in a code tag.

Kindly remove the tags that wrap around the shortcode.
Also, the recent post shortcode is dependent with Cornerstone so it won’t work if you don’t have Cornerstone installed and activated.

MonumentWealthParticipantHi,
I deleted the code tag, activated Cornerstone, and cleared the cache but the shortcode is still showing as it was before… any other ideas? I tried going into the zip file but it’s not listed under the extensions for some reason.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Let us know how it goes

MonumentWealthParticipantHi Joao,
I just deactivated all plugins and then reactivated Cornerstone, cleared cache, and the shortcodes are still not working.

John EzraMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating the thread! Please try removing Cornerstone via FTP and then reinstalling it. If you need help with this, please provide your FTP credentials via private reply.
Let us know how that goes. Hope this helps – thanks!

MonumentWealthParticipantJust to confirm, using FileZilla, I see Cornerstone in the Server/Local File section, and also in the Remote Site section. Should I delete from Remote site section, then upload from Server/Local section? I haven’t worked through FTP before but just set it up and am thinking this is what you mean. Thanks again!

ChristianModeratorPlease delete in Remote site. X will install it again automatically for you. If that doesn’t help, give us FTP access to your remote site.
Thanks.

MonumentWealthParticipantOkay, I’ve deleted it from “Remote Site” and have refreshed the website but it’s not showing under plugins.
Not sure if this matters (since Cornerstone showed in the FTP), but I mentioned above that Cornerstone is not showing in the x_package zip file that I originally purchased and uploaded into WordPress.
