[email protected]ParticipantHello,
First time using this forum so hopefully I can ask a question in the right way!
I had a look at the thread in https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/excerpt-not-showing-in-ethos-stack/ and got some information. I firstly copied the first shortcode into my child template (function.php) but it wasn’t quite right. So then I deleted and copied/pasted the second shortcode in the thread into and my site which seems to have just made my site shut down/error?
Everything else on my account seems ok. Bluehost works fine but when I try to get into wordpress it timesout with:
The thefreckledodyssey.com page isn’t working
thefreckledodyssey.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500I hope someone can help. I currently have the site with maintenance mode anyway but keen to Cornerstone all my existing pages since I purchased this amazing X theme!
Thanks,

[email protected]ParticipantOh my gosh! That was so quick – thank you so much, amazing!
With my thanks, I do have one more question… Is there a shortcode I can use on the blog page that shows the excerpt for the blog in Ethos Masonry? That first shortcode I put in worked but just didn’t have the ‘Read More…’ part.
Thanks,
Marisa

Paul RModeratorHi Marisa,
It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!
