John FParticipantHey Support,
When I switched to the x theme my sharethis plugin at the bottom of every blog post has dissappeared! I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no change. I contacted sharethis and they stated it was an issue with my theme. Some of my articles have hundreds of thousands of shares so I really need this feature and don’t want to lose what was there before!! Thanks

John FParticipantI did some further testing, and if I reactivate my old theme, Sharethis works perfect. Please see the screen shot attached, so this is clearly an issue with the x-theme. Any suggestions how to fix, this is a big issue for my site not to have these social shares.
I find it hard to believe that no one else has had an issue with sharethis? Is this specific to the ethos stack? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

RahulModeratorHey There,
It could be a temporary script conflict which might have got solved when reactivating the child theme. I will send this to our developers to check and if there’s something which needs to be looked into, we shall have it sorted.
Thanks for your inputs.

RadModeratorHi John,
Sorry but there is no news yet. It looks like share this isn’t appended to the_content filter. Would you mind providing your sharethis login? I’ll try to set it up again from step 1. It could just be a setting, but isn’t viewable due to that step by step process on its setting.
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi John,
Sure, but I can’t guarantee any solution.
Looks like your ShareThis has a conflict with other plugin or feature. I can’t change its setting and has this errors.
buttons.js:1 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'prop' of undefined(anonymous function) @ buttons.js:1 stlib_preview.js:226 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'locateElements' of undefinedIt’s coming directly from their file hosted on their site http://w.sharethis.com/button/buttons.js
Does it happen on your end? I can’t click the sharing option. Please disable your plugins, if you like, you can clone your site where I can freely apply changes. I can’t do that on a live site.
Thanks.

John FParticipantHey Rad,
I’m getting the same error now also, which is weird. I don’t know how to clone a site….
I really need to get this issue fixed, I’m losing 1000’s of pageviews a day because of it. All I know is that all of the current plugins and my OLD theme worked without an issue, which makes me believe this is an issue specifically with the X-theme. I really love the theme, but I need this to work. Can we try to escalate this issue for a solution as I’ve been dealing with this for over a week??? Thank you for your help!

RadModeratorHi there,
Unfortunately, there is no quick workaround since we’re not sure what causes all these issues yet, even ShareThis scripts has issues.
And you may lose your working site if we do our testing on live site. That’s users’ common mistake.
I also installed ShareThis plugin on a freshly installed WordPress with TwentySixteen theme, and it’s just the same with the exact same error (can’t save and select options). Hence, this issue could be related to the plugin itself. Or, the plugin is no longer compatible on currently installed WordPress version.
I’ll continue looking, but I can’t guarantee any result.
Thanks!
