bighairloudmouthParticipantHi,
I just purchased the X theme and I have several questions please. My current page is a mess and I need some help please.
1. I want my homepage to show only the recent outfit post but irrespective of trying in virtual composer and cornerstone, I get 4 columns.
To summarise,my objective is to make my website look similar to:
http://shinebythree.com/ with the menu along the header. Is that possible please?2. Also how can I add social media icons to the header?
3. Is it possible to change to the Continue Reading in a box similar to the example website I’ve mentioned above?
4. I see numerous tags mentioned below the title of my blogposts, is it possible to just have one slug appear instead? As in Photography, outfit etc that you see here: http://shinebythree.com/
5. Is it possible to add a location icon under the title of a blogpost with a comment icon?
6. Lastly, could you please help add an Instagram tab at the bottom of the page.
Thanks,
NiluJune 6, 2016 at 9:17 am #1028055
ChristianModeratorHey Nilu,
Please give us the URL of your site so we could check your current setup. Also, it would be best if you could take some time to learn the features of X and Cornerstone in our Knowledge Base. After that, we could give you advise.
Thanks.

JoaoModeratorHi Nilu,
As your header settings is not designed out of the box and it required a good amount of “tweaking” I went ahead and did it for you.
You will be able to do the final adjustments from there by yourself, but I would like to explain you how I did a few things so you don´t feel totally lost.
I turned off the Ubermenu plugin because I believe X menu looks way more similar to your goal.
I set up a custom link on Worpdress menu at Wp Dashboard >Appereance > Menus and instead of using words a used a
of your logo and positioned it in the center. I also made the same and used social icons on the right hand side. You need to go to Appereance > Menus and setup the correct address of your social media.
You header now looks very similar to the reference website.
I also have turned your footer background black so you can see your footer content.
Regarding the layout of your blog to achieve something similar to the blog you mentioned.
Regarding your home page layout at the moment you are using it as a blog and the layout you have is what is the out of box layout of Ethos Stack. In order to achieve some different layouts you could play with the Recent post Elements On cornerstone and I also could recommend you exploring and watching tutorials of our bundled plugin The Grid.
Here is the website of the plugin, explore it and see if you like what they have to offer.
http://theme.co/x/demo/extensions/the-grid/
Hope you are help with your customizations.
Let us know if you need help with anything, please understand that X is extremely flexible but something might be out of the scope of our support.
Thanks
Joao

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
#1 Please add this code :
.x-navbar .x-container.max.width { width: 99%; max-width: 100%; }#2 You can change home page to a static page and then add recent posts element to display posts from specific category.
#3 Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
#4 Please add this in text widget area or footer content area :
<a class="btn" href="#"><i class="x-icon-instagram" data-x-icon=""></i> instagram</a>Hope it helps.

bighairloudmouthParticipantHi,
Do I need to add the #1 code to the Edit Global CSS?
June 9, 2016 at 7:04 am #1033872
bighairloudmouthParticipantHi Christopher,
I’m sorry but this information really does little to help me. Besides the layout I’m asking for is very similar to http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/7/blog/ where I want blogposts with the category Outfits to show instead of Expert Advice, Customize etc.
Also the blog section shows fullwidth similar to how I want.
My questions are:
1. can I increase the size of the social media icons on the header?
2. give little space on the logo in the header as it is too close to the address bar?
3. Using stacks from all the 4 themes in blogposts?
4. Making the header links open in different tabs? All I ask is that is it possible to tweak Integrity a bit to accomodate my needs? If yes, could you please take sometime to work with the VC or composer to try to accomplish something similar to the website http://www.shinebythree.com?
I ask this because my pre purchase question was answered by someone who mentioned it is possible to get what I want using a VC or Cornerstone.
Thanks,

JoaoModeratorHi Nilu,
1- I did increase it a bit for you, You can adjust the size by going to Appereance > Menus. Please see image attached.
2- Done.
3- You cannot mix the stacks layouts, you can create blog posts on Cornerstone and make your posts look different from each other.
4- You can active that on Appereance > Menu / Item by Item Please see img attached.

——————-X is extremely flexible and you my consult with a developer if you don´t know how to achieve certain specfic layout which is not out of the box.

bighairloudmouthParticipantHi Joao,
Can I use pagination by filtering posts by Category on a static Home page?
Thanks,

Paul RModeratorHi Nilu,

bighairloudmouthParticipantHi Paul,
So I have set my HP to reflect recent posts instead of a shortcode.
Now I’m unable to edit it with Cornerstone. Is it possible to edit the HP using Cornerstone?
Screenshot with Olaplex to resemble Screenshot with re Use.Cornerstone is enabled for Posts and Page.
Thanks,

Paul RModeratorHi Nilu,
Yes that’s the way it works.
Once you have set your homepage to display the latest posts it will be no longer editable in cornerstone, instead
it will be automatically populated by your recent posts. Thanks
