irisdigitalservicesParticipantHello there!
I have a performance optimization question.
On desktops, I’m using a full screen rev slider with all other elements hidden. And on mobiles, the rev slider is hidden and the page displays all the elements.
However, when accessed via desktop, the hidden page elements (such as sections, images, footer etc.) are still loaded in the background. They’re just hidden. And when combined with the hefty rev slider, it makes the homepage slow as a snail.
Is there a way I could just create a blank page with revslider for desktop homepage and another one with all the other for mobile homepage?
If not, could I perhaps not have the page content (except revslider) load at all (and not just hidden) on desktops?
Much love!
Ash

FriechModeratorHi Ash,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
Thanks for understanding.

irisdigitalservicesParticipantThanks Friech for a prompt and copy-pasted reply.
Would you then consider adding this feature for future releases?
Sure X’s ability to “hide” the visibility of an element is a great, but it is complete antithesis to website performance standards and page load speed. Sections and elements which an end user will never see are still being loaded, slowing down the website & servers, generating unnecessary traffic, and ultimately slowing down the internet.
Have a nice day!
User who want to achieve the same, this solution can be tried, has worked for me: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16165211/how-to-set-a-different-static-homepage-for-mobile-version-wordpress

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for getting back to us. We certainly appreciate the feedback. This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
