We are having trouble making our site, http://www.themenscouncil.org, visibly secure. We have the necessary certificates at GoDaddy in place and the https: designation is clearly visible in the URL address box when you look there. However, the padlock icon is not showing. We went to https://www.whynopadlock.com/ and did the check there. That allowed us to identify insecure calls in our HTML code which were causing problems. We were able to eliminate all but one call which is to a Themeco address.

    http://theme.co/x/demointegrity/1/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2013/06/bg-integrity-1.png

    This returns the following error:
theme.co returned an error (Possibly 404 not found or other webserver error. Details:

It makes a call to a none existent file at http://theme.co. and produces an “Oops! You blew up the Internet” message when you follow the URL. We did not put that code in ourselves and cannot locate it. We spent time yesterday with GoDaddy, our host server, looking for the .png file to no avail. The debug window reports this call and the error message when the home page loads as well as for every link to a new page in the menu. Searches of the code for the home page yielded no results. Nor did searches anywhere else we could think to look (other pages, plugins, policy statements, etc).

Since the call is to Themeco our theory is that it is somewhere in the X Theme code or was inserted with the installation of X Theme or an update. But it is well hidden. So we are hoping that you can give us some clue about where to look for it and tell us how to get rid of it so we can get a security padlock visible for the site.

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Those are just placeholder/demo images. You can simply upload your own background image and then re-attach the background image to resolve this issue.

    Hope that helps.

We have our own background image in place. This is still a problem because reference to the problematic file is showing up in our debug window. I have attached screen shots to demonstrate where we have finally located the reference to the code. This code seems to reside in a part of our web that is generated by X Theme and we don’t know how to edit it.

The screenshot that did not upload is a wider shot of the 2nd one that is here. So it doesn’t have any additional important information.

    Hi there,

You should reset your background image by adding new and save it at Admin > Appearance > Customizer > Layout & Design.

Add a dummy background image and background pattern and save it, then delete it after saving. It should fix it.

    Cheers!
