    Hi there,

I have a site centered on photo galleries, built with the Revolution Slider that came packaged with X, and I’m finding that all of my galleries will not work with “swipe” on mobile.

All other aspects of the galleries work fine. They go to full screen, and I can navigate through them using the arrows on the left and right.

But I attempt to “swipe” on mobile and nothing happens. The slides do not advance.

I’m using the latest versions of Revolution Slider and X theme. Inside the slider settings, I have “Touch Enabled” turned on, “Swipe Min Finger” is set to 1, and the “Swipe Threshhold” is set to 0.

I’ve tested this slider on WP’s “TwentyFifteen” theme, and the swipe function works fine. So the conflict is definitely between X and the Slider.

Can you help me track down the problem?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Should it behave like a pop-up? It’s not working because there is a button overlaying on all slides. It’s the one that receiving the touch event instead of the actual slide. When it goes to fullscreen, it’s the same button again.

Hence, it blocks the touch event since it covers everything.

Please try removing the button from static slide.

    Thanks!

    Hello there,

    Thanks for checking on that!

I have the button overlaying the full slide because I want the user to be able to tap anywhere on the image to expand it to full screen. (Revolution Slider has a button option for this function that I’m using.) I think it’s intuitive that users will want to tap on the image to expand.

Is there a way to keep that function in there without using a full-width button that overlays the entire slide?

    Hi There,

I am afraid you cannot have the two at the same time.

You could think about a different solution but your touch function either can be directed to zoom the slide anywhere on the screen or to swipe.

If you would like to have this function just working on desktops and not touch devices like tablets and mobiles you could use it as a normal layer and use revolution slider responsive settings to hide the button on smaller devices.

You could also create a button that would launch a lightbox and place on your slider, so the effect would just happen when the person touch the button and not anywhere on the slider, the x lightbox looks different, but it looks good and would give you a similar effect.

    Let us know your toughts.

    Thanks

    Joao
