BodhiJamesParticipantHi there,
Having some problems with revolution slider and wanted to see if you guys had any solutions. My theme is up to date, all plugins are up to date, cache is flushed.
The slider is loading fine in Safari but in Firefox and Chrome periodically it only half loads or loads some older version of the slider. I’ve attached a pic of what it looks like when it partially loads.
The other problem that is now arising is that if I try to add anything else to the slider, whenever I save, I get an error message in revolution slider saying “Ajax Error!!! error” and while I am in the editor, it’s pretty bogged down and lags a bit.
Any advice on how to fix this is much appreciated!

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
The slider works okay on my chrome. Though, I’m not sure about the error. Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
Thanks!

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Please update x to latest version.
If the issue persists, try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.Hope it helps.

BodhiJamesParticipantEverything is updated and I deactivated all of the other plugins and the error still repeats itself. Screenshot of error message in revolution slider included. Thoughts?

RadModeratorHi there,
Hmm, I can’t replicate that. There is no error when saving on my end. Would you mind providing a screenshot of your browser developer tools? Especially the network and XHR section, I like to see the content of the request on your end.
Thanks!

BodhiJamesParticipantSo I’m not exactly sure what you mean by network and XHR section but I’ve been editing in Safari 8.0.3 (Yosemite OS X) and I did look at the timeline and found two errors that seem to occur, one when logging into the page and one specifically when saving. I’ve attached a screenshot so you can see both errors.
You don’t have this problem when editing the slide? At this point I get it even when logging in, opening the slide and then saving it without even changing it. Very strange..

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
I did some further investigation. I noticed that you are using PHP version 5.4.42 and WordPress 4.5 requires at least 5.6 (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). This could possibly be the cause of the issue. In most cases you cannot update your PHP version yourself and need to contact your host about this. The upgrade process is an easy process and should be something your host can do for you without affecting your website or charging you for it. Here’s a letter you can send to your hosting company:
Dear host, I\'m interested in running the open-source WordPress <https://wordpress.org/> web software and I was wondering if my account supported the following: - PHP 5.6 or greater - MySQL 5.6 or greater - The mod_rewrite Apache module Looking forward to your reply.Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

BodhiJamesParticipantHmm, I spoke with GoDaddy who is hosting the site and they said they don’t have the hardware to upgrade but currently have it on order. But for an indefinite period of time, they won’t be able to upgrade to PHP 5.6 which is unfortunate.
It’s strange because the slider worked, saved, etc. for quite awhile but has only recently started to have problems.
Could the size of the slider have anything to do with this error?

Paul RModeratorHi,
No, please try to contact your host again and also request for an increase memory_limit, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize.
Thanks

BodhiJamesParticipantWhat should those values be increased to?
