PPointParticipantHello,
Just wondering if that status of background videos for Revolution slider has changed since this post:
https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/video-backgrounds-do-not-chow-up-in-chrome-and-ff/page/2/As of this post, background videos of Revolution slider are disabled on touch and hybrid(windows touch laptops) devices. I really need a background video for some sliders I am creating, and was wondering if this issue was somehow resolved. It’s fine if they are disabled on mobile, as they should be, but my supervisor uses a touch-screen laptop, and if the slider isn’t displaying on his device, it’s a no go.
Thanks!

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! Let us know if you can’t see the video on touch screen laptop. I think it will work unless it’s tablet that looks like laptop.
Cheers!

PPointParticipantI cannot see the video play. It’s just a black screen, and then if I set a poster image it shows that poster image. It’s an Acer Aspire R14 touchscreen laptop, and then my other boss cannot see it on his Macbook air, using Safari.

RadModeratorHi there,
I just checked on my Macbook Air’s Safari and video is working okay. But I understand that it’s not playing on Acer Aspire, video autoplay is disabled in any type of touch devices. A laptop with touch feature is the same as a tablet with keyboard accessories. Hybrid devices are all considered mobile device despite of the bigger screen resolution. Even an iPad surpassed the screen resolution of a laptop/desktop.
Thanks.

PPointParticipantSo it’s never going to work on hybrid devices? If I set a background video to a revolution slider slide, it works on the Acer hybrid device. So why can’t I set the xtheme background video option to work on the Acer hybrid device?

RadModeratorHi there,
Glad it works in your hybrid device, but not on my end. The slider video displays as a static image with people shadows and lights in the background, on my view. Maybe your device has permission to play it when it comes to HTML5 video, because the video in the lower section is a Vimeo video and not HTML5 video. If Vimeo wants to display video or not in mobile is something we can’t control since it’s an iframe. And the iframe is just a window within a window.

Thanks.
