    First I would like to say thank you. Thus far you have been awesome in answering questions.
    I would like to edit what items, such as Recent Posts, Recent Comments etc that appear in the right sidebar on the default template. I have not found anywhere to do that.

    You can remove sidebar items from Appearance > Widgets.
