JosephVSiteParticipantI am using W3 Total cache and enabled the right settings to nix the query strings (as far as I know). I have also added the following into my functions file:
/*** Remove Query String from Static Resources ***/
function remove_cssjs_ver( $src ) {
if( strpos( $src, ‘?ver=’ ) )
$src = remove_query_arg( ‘ver’, $src );
return $src;
}
add_filter( ‘style_loader_src’, ‘remove_cssjs_ver’, 10, 2 );
add_filter( ‘script_loader_src’, ‘remove_cssjs_ver’, 10, 2 );And this wasn’t an issue for a while. But all of a sudden I am seeing:
“Remove query strings from static resources” on my pingdom speed test. Why would this be? I’m stumped.Deborah

RadModeratorHi there,
I just checked it and I can’t find the resources that still have the
?ver=. That means it works unless you have a specific page that still displaying those?Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
In that case, it’s not about ?ver= in which your code fixed, and it’s working. I disabled your WP Dynamic Links plugin and those query string are now gone.
Thanks!

JosephVSiteParticipantHuh. Does that mean we shouldn’t be using that plugin? We like that plugin.

JosephVSiteParticipantAlso, even with it disabled- I am still getting this:
Resources with a “?” in the URL are not cached by some proxy caching servers. Remove the query string and encode the parameters into the URL for the following resources:

JosephVSiteParticipantAlso, deactivating that plugin disabled several of our affiliate shop links. Please don’t deactivate plugins on our site and leave them deactivated.

RadModeratorHi there,
I see, sure. In that case, please contact the plugin author. Though I doubt they will able to help you, the main purpose of ?470c66 is link identification. Removing that query string will make your plugin useless.
It’s up to you, disable the plugin and follow the recommendation, or ignore the recommendation and keep the plugin.
Thanks!
