Yes, you can create posts with different editors. It could be default editor, cornerstone or visual composer.
You should note that once you select a editor you should stick with it and don’t switch between editors as this breaks your page layout.The post I was referring to was http://www.thepohlposition.com/blog which was created in cornerstone. See the attachment.

yozParticipantAll of my menu in my header has also been created in cornerstone, so when i tick categories in create new post to place my content somewhere, i have no idea where they are going to, as there certainly not going to the headings in the menu. The menu header blog that i have only shows the cornerstone produced content, not the content created in new post

It also doesn’t make sense though as if i create a post in cornerstone if i choose that editor, i can not add a feature picture from there or scan i add seo etc as i can from create new post editor on the dashboard

Thanks for writing back. Featured image is already on the page/post editor. So it would be redundant to include them on Cornerstone settings again. Also it’s a core feature of WordPress and should not be take over by the page builder.
However you can add the excerpts from Settings tab for posts – http://prntscr.com/bfgtcx
