I’m trying to get the recent posts item in visual composer to show an image that isn’t the full entry size to increase page speed.
But every piece of code I’ve found in the forums and even when I copy/paste from the cornerstone recent_posts.php file – doesn’t work.

Here’s the latest piece of code I tried but it’s just not working -I still get the entry-cropped size rather than any other size I enter.

Oh should also point out I rename the function to x_shortcode_recent_posts2 – this was just copied ad pasted from the cornerstone plugin.

Am I missing something? Any help you can give me is much appreciated.

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! The featured image in the recent posts element has changed. Before it was displayed as an image element and it has been replaced and made as a background image. To be able to display the full image, please check out this topic: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/renew-how-to-adjust-recent-posts-element-image-crop/#post-1047057

And you might need to add this custom css code:

.site .x-recent-posts .x-recent-posts-img {
    background-size: contain;
}
