fedulovParticipantI have the same issue, but couldn’t find the answer anywhere. Then I discovered that if I deactivate “The grid” plugin, then preview of the published page works fine. Can that be fixed?

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for providing the very detailed information. I have created a test page and I could not replicate the issue. After publishing the page, I was able to view the page live. By the way, the Grid plugin is active and I did not deactivate it. Could you please send us a video screen capture so that we will know and have an idea of what is going on in your site?
Thank you in advance.

fedulovParticipantNo need to send any video.
You probably misinterpreted described problem, please read subject of a topic again :). I have no issue with viewing published page live.Issue is with REVIEWing new changes after page was published.
To replicate the issue – create any new page, click on “preview” to make sure that you able to do so.
Then publish the page and then go back to editing.
To edit the page or not it’s up to you, but then click on “Preview changes”
And that’s it.Even your page that you created has the same issue. But if I deactivate “The grid” problem disappear.
Please let me know.December 30, 2016 at 11:51 am #1310095
fedulovParticipantAnd sorry, looks like Subject of this issue was not complete. Now I understand why you guys were confused.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thank you for the clarifications. I have tested the preview changes button in your site and I can confirm the issue is present. I have tried to replicate the issue on my local server and it seems this issue is only unique to your installation. Could you please put your site in Under Construction mode and switched to Twenty Sixteen theme to check is this is really an issue with your WP installation?
I did some further investigation and I noticed that you are using PHP version 5.4.45 and WordPress 4.5 requires at least 5.6 (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). This could possibly be the cause of the issue. In most cases you cannot update your PHP version yourself and need to contact your host about this. The upgrade process is an easy process and should be something your host can do for you without affecting your website or charging you for it. Here’s a letter you can send to your hosting company:
Dear host, I\'m interested in running the open-source WordPress <https://wordpress.org/> web software and I was wondering if my account supported the following: - PHP 5.6 or greater - MySQL 5.6 or greater - The mod_rewrite Apache module Looking forward to your reply.Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

fedulovParticipantWell, I contacted support and they upgraded PHP to 5.6
However it didn’t help.
I have another domain on the same hosting that run wordpress and I temporary assigned x theme and activated the grid. And tested how it works. It works fine, no issues. That tells me server settings are fine. What else could it be?

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thank you for updating in! Could you please put your site in Under Construction mode and switched to Twenty Sixteen theme to check if this is really an issue with your WP installation? This could not be an X issue. Please create a site backup so that we can also test it in your site.
Please let us know how it goes.

fedulovParticipantSorry, was busy entire week. Now I got back to the site, activated twenty sixteen, tested “preview” – result: error 404 page not found. Deactivated “the grid” – no errors, preview works as normal. By activating the grid cannot preview and it doesn’t depend on a theme. It’s a plugin. Not sure what else to do.
January 7, 2017 at 12:47 pm #1320338
fedulovParticipantNot so sure what it was. But solution was quite simple. I deleted plugin “The grid” and then re-installed it. Now everything works fine. Thank you!

RadModeratorGlad to hear that! Looks like cache and thanks for sharing.
January 7, 2017 at 1:45 pm #1320377
fedulovParticipantWell, actually not as simple as I thought. After refreshing the cache problem still persist.
I found that if I update the page and then try to edit and review it again, it sends me to a completely different link for preview.
Incorrect link with 404 error: /?preview_id=610&preview_nonce=a9bc68f73a&post_format=standard&_thumbnail_id=512
Correct link would look like: /?preview_id=610&preview_nonce=a9bc68f73a&_thumbnail_id=512&preview=trueIf I do the following:
1. click on “preview” and get an error
2. Manually paste correct link in a browserIt will update the page and allow me to review it before updatting.
And again, deactivating “The grid” will fix the issue.
January 8, 2017 at 12:36 am #1320806
RadModeratorHi there,
Hmm, can’t reproduce it on any of my installation. I can’t say it’s a plugin’s bug but looks like it’s a redirect. Something is adding
post_format=standardto the preview URL. Post format isn’t applicable for pages, I have The Grid and my preview URL doesn’t have this.Would it be okay if I disable all other plugins for checking? But you must backup your entire site first. Maybe The Grid is the one triggering the issue from another plugin.
Thanks!

fedulovParticipantOk, I’ll back it up tomorrow and let you know. Thx
