chasrlParticipantI have a setup where I develop on a local computer using XAMPP (the development site url is http://localhost:8080/wp) before deploying to a live Hostgator site. All theme and plugin updates are handled in the development environment. X-Theme in the development environment won’t accept the API key I generate using the development site url — and I therefore have to update X-Theme manually which is a pain.
How do I validate and get automatic X-Theme updates in my XAMPP environment?

John EzraMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! Try generating and API key for localhost. I have a local xampp setup and using localhost works on my end. But this may depend on how you have things configured. (My setup is the default for windows).
Let us know how that goes. Hope this helps – thanks!

chasrlParticipantHmmm … no luck.
I can’t generate an API key any longer — this functionality has been removed from the X-Theme account / manage licenses page. I can only associate a license with a site url.
This seems to work: I can assign my license to my local host url — http://localhost:8080/wp.
But when I go back to my XAMPP site, X-Theme is still asking for an API key. If I enter my license key in place of the API key I get the error “This site URL is not a match for your API key.”
What next?

Paul RModeratorHi,
Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins)
The latest version numbers as of this time: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.
X Theme 4.4.1
Cornerstone 1.2.2
If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

brandinglabParticipantHi, having the same problem?

RadModeratorHi Guys,
Validation doesn’t require API Key anymore. If you’re on the old theme, then you may want to update it to the latest X theme to properly utilize the new validation system. It now requires Purchase Key validation as long as you assign your site URL on your license page.
Thanks!
