I want to build a website that has pages organized by category and side navigation menu for each manufacturer with pages organized to show products, product images, products information, product features, and links to product downloads. This is a sales rep site and is not a ecommerce site where you buy direct from the site; merely for customers to view products and contact for a quote etc. I am looking for a simple way to organize the products in a database, not just name pages and subpages. I was suggested Woo Commerce’s catalog only feature, but I also don’t want a robust admin interface withe tons of ecommerce store options and fields. Are there any good plugins for this simple catalog? with maybe short codes or that i can easily work with cornerstones page building templates. Im not looking for elaborate layout.. just a product photo, text, and features. Not trying to reinvent the wheel, but there has to be a bunch of people out there like me.

Thanks for posting in and giving us screenshot. You can use Portfolio to display this products. We do have page listing template which is Layout Portfolio and portfolio single pages have display featured image and text. We do have different style per stack. thanks! after killing myself over this, ended up adding the ProductDisplay plugin to make list and table views. I used WooCommerce with Catalog plugin, because I really wanted to separate the products away from the Pages section of WP; easier.
I am now moving onto my next struggles, spacing and all the hierarchies of CSS with X vs all the plugins.
One margin at a time.. pfft.
