I’ve recently started getting the following error message (which I think started occurring around the time we upgraded to WP 4.6.1):

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/37/d263443309/htdocs/clickandbuilds/Testsite/wp-content/plugins/ubermenu/pro/menuitems/UberMenuItemWidgetArea.class.php:1) in /homepages/37/d263443309/htdocs/clickandbuilds/Testsite/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1174

This prevents us getting access to the website or the control panel so we have to disable the plugin entirely.

Does anyone have any ideas what’s causing the problem?

Thanks for writing in!

Please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If it doesn’t help, please provide us with your website admin and FTP account details so we can take a closer look.

Hi Pransant. Sorry, the problem seems to have rectified itself so I can’t replicate the problem at the moment. I’ll update again if the problem reoccurs.

Hi Guys,

The problem has resurfaced again. I’ve tried deactivating all of the plugins that were not included in the original X Theme but the problem is still there.

When the Ubermenu plugin is activated there is a warning message:

“The plugin generated 141 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.”

….and then there are various messages when browsing the website, such as:

This then prevents access to the website and the control panel and the only way to get access to the Dashboard again is to disable the plugin via FTP. I’ll reply privately with login credentials.

Hi there,

Please disable debuging mode by adding following line in wp-config.php file :

define('WP_DEBUG', false);

Please try to reinstall ubermenu plugin.

I’ve done both of the suggestions. There are no errors so far. I’ll keep an eye on it and let you know if I experience any further problems. Thanks for your help.
