Dave SParticipantHello…
I am new to WordPress… switching from Squarespace, but I’m loving X.
I’m Using the latest version of WP, Integrity Light Child Theme, and Shortcode plugin. All new installs within the last day.
I’m working on a test site:
http://ecbiz137.inmotionhosting.com/~davesw8/swiftmusic.netI am copying the look of the theme.co/x homepage, but using a video slider.
The problem I am having is this…
My video is loading very differently (or not at all) depending on the device I use. Here it is in Safari:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wdyc07e7bpntp71/Screen%20Shot%202014-02-16%20at%2011.49.49%20PM.pngHere it is on my iPad:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tj18xf7apvw6fxs/IMG_4532.pngHere it is in Chrome:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rgvms5tcaljubdc/Screen%20Shot%202014-02-16%20at%2011.49.34%20PM.pngI did set a mobile picture as well, but I haven’t been able to get that to load either.
What am I doing wrong in the Rev Slider settings?
Btw, the video is being hosted on my server space at inmotionhosting.
Any info would be very much appreciated!

RubinKeymasterHey,
on touch devices we disabled the video function to save battery and performance so you have the fallback image as option for this.

Dave SParticipantThanks for the reply, but this doesn’t really answer my question…
I set the fallback image but it isn’t displaying.
The slider is also displaying very differently in different browsers.

KoryKeymasterHey Dave,
Thanks for writing back and sorry about any confusion on with this particular issue. When I pull up your website in all of the browsers mentioned, everything looks great to me. I can see the video as expected on desktop and I can even see the image of your colorful keyboard on mobile devices. This could be an issue related to your ISP bottlenecking on your connection creating some of these visual “errors.” One other thing you might want to look into is the fact that your video is a little bit on the larger side (about 16MB I believe), and since you’re hosting it yourself on a server that might not be optimized for streaming media in this way, this could also be creating an error for you.
Let us know if you need anything else regarding this matter. Unfortunately, there’s not much we can troubleshoot when we can’t replicate the exact error ourselves. At least we can see everything with no problem and nothing appears to be faulty when we view everything.
Thanks!

Dan IParticipantHi, I’m having the same issue. The picture I set to display instead of the video isn’t displaying on any mobile devices – it’s just playing the video.
I’ve set the picture in the home page settings.

ChristianModeratorHey Dan,
Can you give us the link to your website so we can see the problem?
Thanks.
