You also have custom coding that isn’t properly closed from your navbar template. And there are residue files from your old theme which remains intact, hence, affecting new files.

I went ahead and fixed them.

I really couldn’t see all these mistakes. You did great job for me!

Can you explain the reason why malformed elements could appear? I’d just put the code to footer.php using Notepad++. Were there an issue with encoding?

You’re welcome!

You might add the code after this line:
<?php x_get_view( x_get_stack(), 'wp', 'footer' ); ?>

It should be before that line because that code returns footer content until the end of HTML. Adding a code after that means it’s not included anymore inside the body of HTML.
