nathunterParticipantHello,
For the last few days I have been unable to edit the pages in my website http://www.eastgymnastics.com.au. The website works fine on the front end. Yet when I click on the page I want to edit on the back end I get a message “Loading, please wait” in the Visual Composer box and it never actually loads.
I have tried this on both Chrome and Safari on my computer (Macbook) and also on a different computer with the same result.
I am using an old version of X Theme (2.6.0) but I am nervous to upgrade it as I haven’t used child themes (I am a novice user) and now I can’t even access the customisations I have used to check I won’t lose them.
I have tried accessing help through the Visual Composer website but apparently I don’t have a license so don’t receive support. Has something changed which means the visual composer I use on my site suddenly won’t work anymore? What can I do to fix this? Do I have to purchase the license or is it something to do with the X theme?
Please help!
Natalie

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
You’re using pretty old version of X and plugins.
Please clone your site in a staging domain and follow this link https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/ to update X and plugins. Next disable x shortcodes plugin and visit X Addons page to install cornerstone automatically. Please follow this link https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/ to validate your product to unlock extensions and automatic update.
Hope it helps.

nathunterParticipantHi Christopher,
Thanks for your advice. Since I have very little technical website understanding, can you please tell me how to clone my site in a staging domain?
Cheers,
Natalie
