cgenselParticipantHello,
I was wondering if there are any issues updating to WP 4.7.1. My site failed to update automatically (email notification specifically pertaining to the update to 4.7.1) and sent me an error message. I went into my dashboard and can’t find a link to update it even when I check for updates again.
I checked with my hosting company (Godaddy, managed WP site) and they said everything looks fine and is showing up to date but it’s only operating on 4.7.0. I checked with Sucuri to see if any of their security measures might have blocked it and that doesn’t look to be the problem.
So, I just wanted to doublecheck that there aren’t any issues specific to X that are showing up. Don’t really know where to go from here on resolving this.

Thanks as always!!

mwyannielloParticipantHi there,
Just wanted to relay the information i received from GoDaddy as I was experiencing the same issue. I was actually even getting booted out repeatedly from my dashboard as you could imagine is very annoying. This has nothing to do with X and is just a safety precaution by GoDaddy ever since the WordPress update 4.3 episode happened.GoDaddy restricts updating to new versions of WordPress until they fully test it ensuring no issues. So the reason why you don’t see the option to update WordPress is because they hide that option. I was told by tier 2 support at GoDaddy that once they complete their tests all sites will automatically update.
Unfortunately if you experience any issues (i.e. getting booted repeatedly from dashboard) you will have to contact GoDaddy and they can apply short term fix’s until the update is approved and released.

cgenselParticipantThanks so much! I experienced the booting yesterday as well, though not today. I’ll keep an eye out for when it’s available.
Best,
