IluminaGParticipantHi. Two problems:
1) X theme broken / no longer available — “stylesheet is missing”
2) Cornerstone will not validate despite correct & current code provided with X theme license (no separate cornerstone-only code that I’m aware of)
Non developer here, can usually figure out the ‘simple’ things but this one has me stumped even after reading through related forums.
Both X theme and cornerstone should be most current versions, assuming the X theme 4.6.1 update I attempted at the same time as WordPress 4.6 update occurred as they should. WordPress 4.6 update initially failed but is now working.
Site is defaulting in an ugly way to a WordPress default theme … Help and/or specific detailed fix steps, please, and thank you!!

RahulModeratorHey There,
Thanks for writing in!
Try to re-install the theme by downloading it from the Themeforest’s account. Get a Zip file and unzip it. From the folder, you need to install a Zip file of X theme. Please do not unzip the X Zip file. Install full X Zip to your WordPress.
Cornerstone doesn’t require any validation code. It is bundled with X theme itself. Once you validate the theme with the given code, Cornerstone will be validated itself.
Let us know how it goes!

IluminaGParticipantThank you! Before I reinstall theme … any tips for me on preserving previous style sheet customizations? This is just a guess on my part, but I’m thinking that if I don’t take some sort of action, I will lose any design choices that were in place. Again, thanks for your patience and support for a non-developer!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for the updates! Before you re install the X theme, please go to X Addons > Customizer Manager and download the XCS file or X Customizer Settings so that you will have a backup. You can re import this again once you are done reinstalling X Theme. And by the way, if you are using a child theme, maybe you have the legacy child theme, it would be a good idea to check out this topic: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/child-theme-updates/
And for Cornerstone validation, this should no longer ask for any validation as long as the X theme or an X child theme is active. Please take note that Cornerstone will only ask for validation if you are not using X as primary or parent theme. If in any case, you have renamed the
xfolder to something else, then Cornerstone will ask for a validation because it will look for x folder. Whenever this folder is missing, Cornerstone will act a a standalone plugin thus ask for validation.Hope this explains it.
