I have 2 questions regarding the functionality of the Portfolio.

1. How can I make other portfolio items in a related category show up on individual portfolio pages?

2. How can I show multiple pictures for each portfolio item? For example, if I wanted 3 pictures to be used instead of one, I know I can select GALLERY in the Media Type section when editing a portfolio item. I am confused as to where I upload the images because when I do select GALLERY instead of IMAGE, the image disappears.

Thanks for writing in!

#1. You can use “Recent Posts” shortcode and set post type to “portfolio”.

#2. You can edit your portfolio item in Cornerstone. So you can place any kind of content there within the content area. There is no limitation.

Ok I seem to understand how #1 works, but my issue is with #2. I went through the instructions and the problem I am having is that I do not have an option to CREATE GALLERY in the MEDIA LIBRARY section. The screenshot you show on the website does not match what I see. In fact, I can upload the multiple files, but cannot actually create a gallery with them. I am familiar with how galleries work too so it’s not something I don’t know how to do. It’s just simply that I can’t get to the part of the instructions you mention to finish it.

I went ahead and saw a previous portfolio item that has a gallery working and in the MEDIA LIBRARY, I was able to click on each of those pictures and see it says where it’s uploaded to (see attached.) – I just don’t know how that was actually done. Please help! Thank you for your time.

Hello There,

Currently, the way to add images to the gallery is to attach it to the portfolio / post. That means adding images by using the Add Media button (see http://prntscr.com/43gz2j). Once the images has been attached and the page updated, it’ll show up in the gallery.

Portfolio gallery uses the images attached to that portfolio items specifically. If you need to change the image, you’ll need to remove it and upload a new image. To the image entirely from the slider, you’ll need to delete the image. Since images should be attached to post/portfolio items, you should upload them when you’re creating gallery. And if the image is already exists in media library, delete it and upload it when you create gallery.
