We are trying to implement a Portfolio page, but we can’t attach it to a parent page (see attached file).
This makes the breacrumb and permalink behave incorrectly.

    What are we doing wrong?

    We followed this: https://community.theme.co/kb/portfolios/

    Hi there,

It seems you are using a Custom permalink structure and that’s causing some issue for the single portfolio – http://prntscr.com/cn2n8d

Kindly set a proper permalink structure such as “Post Name”.

    Thanks!

    Hello Rupok,
Is there a way I can change it so I keep the word “blogue” in my blog posts and make the Portfolio work?

    Thanks again!

    Hi there,

Head over to Paramètres -> Permaliens section and then select Nom de l’article to resolve that issue.

How about assigning your blog posts to a category named “blogue”, so that it will under that category.

    Thanks!

    It did not work.
I can only select “Default” from the parent page and the Portfolio items do not follow the permalink structure.

To determine if a page is a Portfolio, you gotta change its template right? Am I forgetting something?

I reverted the permalink changes back to get “/blogue” back.

    Thanks!

    Hello There,

I can see that you do have a caching plugin. Please make sure to purge cache after every changes. This will make sure that new settings or update will work. We need to generate new cache content with the new settings. Please try again the previous suggestion and then cleat cache after. Do let us know how this goes.

    Hello Lely,
The permalinks are configured for post names at the moment.

I emptied the server cache and saved the Portfolio page (that has the Layout – Portfolio template) and I do not see it in the list of parent pages when editing a portfolio item. You can validate if you wish to. :S

    Hi there,

That’s because your portfolio main page is a child of another parent page. Your portfolio page should have no parent.

Currently, this is how I see it Entreprise > Portfolio, it should be a top level main page Portfolio.

    Thanks!

    Hey Rad,
That worked! I can now select the page as a Portfolio parent in the Portfolio items. It’d be nice if the Portfolio could be a child page nonetheless, but I just want it to work at this point. 🙂

I thought it would fix it, but applying the parent page and emptying the cache did not change the fact that clicking an item gives a 404 error.

    Hi,

Can you try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Sure thing, I’ll give it a shot.
    Thank you for your patience.

I have found out that the Rewrite plugin conflicts with it. (Attached file)
I cannot disable it permanently though.

This URL works when I disable it: https://magikweb.ca/portfolio-item/municipalite-de-saint-damien-de-buckland

What is the underlying rewriting rule for it? I will attempt to reapply it using the plugin and everything should be fixed.

I am aware that the issue is not from the Theme itself, I’m very grateful for your help in this Portfolio attempt.
