Yes I will need your help please. To recap the issue is that I have set my Portfolio Page to display 24 items in 4 columns using ‘Layout-Portfolio’, yet it doesn’t and it comes out with a side bar and a long single column of Portfolio Items.Since then I have created a full files and database back up and saved Customizer Settings, installed a fresh WP and uploaded a copy of my site so that I could install the demo content Renew 2. Unfortunately this did nothing to resolve the original issue and the second copy install does not display any of the homepage work I did of course.
So now I need help firstly with:
1 Getting my original website and database into use again (on local server).
2 Uploading the original website zip to a new temp url WP live so that you can login and investigate the Portfolio display issue.I hope we can resolve this as soon as possible. Thanks,

How did you back it up? Unfortunately, we can’t handle or provide support on site’s restoration. Restoration should be the same if you use a backup tool. Else, you’ll have to contact your hosting provider to restore it.

CatDouglasParticipantI used Duplicator plugin, don’t worry as I’m getting support from then on that step. Also while I work on it I’m hosting locally, it’s not a live site yet.
I’ll get back to you when I’m onto step 2.

I’ve managed (somehow and with help) to get the first database and files showing on my local MAMP server on my browser. I realise I may have worded that wrong which only manifests my lack of deep understanding about what I just did, however so that means I’ve gotten somewhere. Nevertheless, now I need to:2 Upload the original website zip to a new temp url WP live so that you can login and investigate the Portfolio display issue.
Please suggest a very straight forward and simple way in which to do this step. i.e. do I create a temp url on WordPress and somehow upload the files so it’s live for you to login and investigate?

Yes, that is correct. On a live temp URL upload the files. Set it up just like how you did on your local MAMP. Setup the database and then upload the files. Then give us the admin credentials.

I’m afraid I need guidance or a url ref to do that because I have to create a free WordPress account with a free temp url, there doesn’t seem to be a way to upload zip files to it.

I am not sure what you have currently, but we need FTP credentials to do that. We have to upload the files using FTP. Ask for the FTP credentials from the hosting provider and that is where the files will be uploaded. It is not possible on the wordpress admin.

CatDouglasParticipantWhat I’ve done so far is create a free WordPress account and uploaded an xml wordpress export file from my original self-hosted website:

CatDouglasParticipantDo you understand why I cannot upload the X theme – there is no function to upload a theme in this free WP, it’s light blue as opposed to the dark grey I’m used to but I don’t understand why.

Unfortunately, we can’t help you with that. You have to use your own hosting with full access. Where we can access the backend with FTP and with full access on wordpress admin.

When you have set it up already, please do open a new thread and then share the credentials on a private reply. The longer the thread, the harder it is to support. Just state the issue that is left on the new thread.
