bastibrandParticipantHey! I used to search for answers, but i didn´t found anything that fits on my question.
So, here it is:
I would like to use Cornerstone to COMPLETELY design the content of a Portfolio Item, like
you use it for a normal page. I dont like the Header-Image so extreme big and the
“Entry-Info” isn´t important for me. The “Breadcrumbs” is okay. But i would like to use Cornerstone
for the entire content under the Breadcrumbs and above the footer and the comments and social links. The overview of the portfolio is fully ok as it is.
So, what i would like to have: same functions of cornerstone as on a normal page template (no container, offset, header, footer).
What i already did: I installed the child-theme-template and tried to rescript “content-portfolio.php” without big success.
My PHP is a bit rusty, so, please help me! 😀Thanks a lot!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! Please be advised that Cornerstone is a page builder. You may use it to create contents for a page/post/portfolio/product. The display area of Cornerstone contents is only within the bounds of the content area that the page/post/portfolio/product template has provided.
Please also be advised that by WordPress default page templates is only available for pages. For more details, please check out the codex: https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/page-template-files/page-templates/
Hope this helps.

bastibrandParticipantHello and thanks for your reply.
So the short version is: no, there is no way to use cornerstone for a portfolio item like on a normal page?Is the only way for me to create new pages with the desired content?
Or is there an option to link a portfolio item to a special page?
(If you click in the overview on a portfolio item, you will get on a separate page noch on the item page)Thanks a lot!

RadModeratorHi there,
That’s possible and you’ll need a 3d party plugin that can handle redirects. Or simply install Page Links To plugin and you can manually add URL to your portfolio item, to where you wish to link it to.
Thanks!

bastibrandParticipantHello! I just found out, that i need to update the functions.php in my child theme.
(Found this on a deeper search here in this forum)For me it is fairly okay to use pages instead of “portfolio-item”, but the breadcrumbs with the
arrow left and right are not given, or is there a workaround? Thanks a lot!

ChristianModeratorRegretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You might want to contact our trusted partners who caters X setup and customization needs. Please see https://community.theme.co/custom-development/. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!
