Hi,
Is it possible to import items into the Portfolio extension, have close to 300 items across different say 8 different categories.
I don’t relish the thought of having to do them one by one.Mike
Hello Mike,
Thanks for writing in! The products and the portfolio items have different post type and they have different metadata. You cannot simply import any of the items to one particular post types. Please take note that each of the post types has its own group of metadata and any of this data was intentionally coded solely for the post type use only. I am saying that a portfolio item doesn’t have the same data as the product item. One example is that a product has a short description, price, shipping, inventory and other product attributes. None of these data is present in portfolio items. And the same time, all data in the portfolio item is not present.
If you want to showcase your products, perhaps using a 3rd party plugin such as the Essential grid which you can install in X Addons > Extensions. To know more about this plugin, please check it here: https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-essential-grid/
