jrerkoParticipantHi,
Can you (Themeco) please help me understand why the images I upload to my site look terrible? low resolution, etc. I think i’m following good practice for resolution and exporting from photoshop (save for web, etc.), so I wonder if there’s something in my wordpress settings that automatically affects my image quality after upload.site is sixdayssevennights.com.

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in! If you are referring the large banner image then certainly it’s not a good resolution image for this purpose. It’s very low resolution and dimension is not best for this section. When you are saving for web, make sure to keep the quality at least “good” to avoid such blurry image.
Your site is showing the original image you have uploaded. So nothing is being altered by WordPress or X. Let’s use a good image.
Cheers!

John EzraMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating the thread! Your image is set to 1200px wide. For non HD monitors this will look just fine. However, since HD seems to be more of a standard now a days and with resolutions moving beyond 4K, I would say you should at least have a resolution width set to 1920px wide. This will ensure that it will show up fine on HD screens, the file sizes will go up though but if you are using save for web, they should still be manageable.
Hope this helps – thanks!
